Contrary to popular belief, Lorem Ipsum is not simply random text. It has roots in a piece of classical Latin literature from 45 BC, making it over 2000 years old. Richard McClintock, a Latin professor at Hampden-Sydney College in Virginia, looked up one of the more obscure Latin words, consectetur, from a Lorem Ipsum passage, and going through the cites of the word in classical literature, discovered the undoubtable source. Lorem Ipsum comes from sections 1.10.32 and 1.10.33 of "de Finibus Bonorum et Malorum" (The Extremes of Good and Evil) by Cicero, written in 45 BC. This book is a treatise on the theory of ethics, very popular during the Renaissance. The first line of Lorem Ipsum, "Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet..", comes from a line in section 1.10.32.

START AT SP JAIN. GO GLOBAL FROM THERE

Business may be universal, but there is no universal way of doing business. A conventional business education may give you the skills to excel in one country, but what about all the others? Our multi-country learning model provides a unique opportunity for global exposure and experience and through activities, both inside and outside the classroom, you will be exposed to how business practices differ around the world. This will give you the edge in a competitive global business environment.

MULTI-CAMPUS LEARNING

How you do business in Dubai is so different from how you do business in Singapore, Australia or even the United States. You may be a great success in your home country, but a miserable failure in another if you have not understood that business practices, political systems and consumer preferences can differ. Helping students understand this is something that we, at SP Jain, do uniquely through our multi-campus learning model. All of SP Jain’s full-time students live and study in not one, but in a minimum of three different cities. We have campuses in Dubai, Mumbai, Singapore and Sydney. So, in addition to learning the various tools of business (like most students), SP Jain students understand the global nature of business in the most compelling way – through actual exposure to diverse cultures, political beliefs, traditions and technological innovations.

OUT-OF-CLASSROOM ACTIVITIES

The SP Jain global experience goes beyond the four walls of the classroom. In each of the cities, students participate in structure global immersion activities that expose them to regional business practices, political beliefs and cultures. In Sydney, for instance, students visit the Sydney Opera House and the Museum of Contemporary Art to understand the various aspects of western art. During their stay in Dubai, students visit the Burj Khalifa to understand the planning that went behind its construction. In Singapore, they go on back office tours of the world’s most expensive and standalone casino in the Marina Bay Sands to observe and study its revenue model. A similar cultural immersion awaits them in Mumbai. This is truly a standout feature of the multi-campus learning model as it helps students truly soak in diverse cultures and emerge as knowledgeable and culturally rich graduates.
